Stave Chair

The design of this chair has been inspired by Irish vernacular furniture like the Tuam chair. These items were generally designed for a specific function and the number of components and quantity of material reduced to an absolute minimum.

Our chair supports the sitter perfectly when they lean back and but otherwise aims to be unobtrusive while in use. It is a working chair that allows movement and reaching while sitting. The stacking function – 4 high – means that they can be cleared away for cleaning or to make room for social events in the home.

Made in solid native timbers it is available to order in oak and ash with a lacquered or oil finish.
