We’re often asked how we bring a client’s vision to life—how an idea transforms into a beautifully crafted piece of furniture. For us, the starting point is about understanding what the client wants to achieve. Whether it’s a statement piece for the home or a seamless storage solution that balances form and function, bringing a client’s vision to life begins as a collaboration between us and them.
The Process
The first stage of the process is an initial meeting with the client. And it’s always a very interactive meeting as we tease out ideas together. Next stage is for us to go away and develop a couple of concepts to meet the brief. Once completed, another meeting with the client will agree on a way forward which could be a hybrid of both concepts.
Direction agreed, the next step is for us to create a computer model which generates the technical drawings. Those along with any samples or mockups will be presented to the client for final approval.
The Practicalities
Our initial consultation is complimentary. However, we do charge a design fee for the concept development stage. After the first meeting, we provide a written proposal outlining the design fee and, where possible, an estimated overall project budget. Once the design fee is agreed and paid, we move ahead with the next steps.
When the final designs are approved, we issue a final quotation for the project. Should the client proceed with the project, 50% of the design fee is deducted from the final cost.
